The Laughing Seagull is a charming 2-bedroom, fully heated, former railway cottage, offering beautiful holiday accommodation at any time of the year. Downstairs there is a large kitchen living area featuring a cosy wood burner and delightful conservatory - a perfect sociable space. Sleeping a maximum of 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, the large master bedroom has a king size bed with Smart TV and cast- iron decorative fireplace. The coastal themed 2nd bedroom has twin beds. The modern upstairs shower room has a walk-in shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. Outside there are front and rear enclosed gardens so you can always find that sunny spot! The front lawned garden with bench, is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee. The rear private garden is perfect for al fresco dining with large table, chairs, outdoor lighting, BBQ and chiminea for those cooler evenings. The breath-taking coastal villages of Bamburgh and Beadnell lie either side of Seahouses, both less than a 15-minute drive away. • How far is The Laughing Seagull from the beach? The nearest beach at North Sunderland is just over 0.5 mile from the cottage (15 min walk). Other beaches within a 15 minute drive can be found at Bamburgh, Budle Bay, Beadnell & Newton by the Sea, with many more within a 30 min drive. • What is provided at the cottage? We aim to provide everything you may need for a comfortable and cosy stay. All bedding and towels are provided along with some welcome toiletries (shower gel, soap, shampoo & conditioner). A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, eggs, bread, wine and biscuits (contents may vary) for your arrival along with a starter pack of kindling and coal. We also provide dishwasher tablets, washing pods, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, couple of loo rolls and other useful items and cleaning products. For our four-legged friends we provide poo bags, dog bowls and we couldn't leave them out, some dog treats too! • Is heating included? Heating in our cottage is included in the cost of your stay. The radiators are on programmed timers. Instructions on how to use the radiators is provided in the welcome pack. The cottage has a wood burner and an initial supply of coal and kindling is provided. Additional supplies can be bought in Seahouses from Mattches DIY shop or the petrol station. • Is there WiFi and mobile phone signal? The cottage has WiFi that will allow general use of searching the web and checking emails. The WiFi password is displayed prominently in the cottage. The phone signal in Seahouses is much improved in recent years and you are usually able to find a signal. • Do you allow dogs? As big dog lovers ourselves we welcome up to 2 dogs at The Laughing Seagull totally free of charge. With miles of stunning dog friendly beaches virtually on your doorstep and an abundance of stunning countryside nearby, we feel the Northumberland coast is the best place for dogs to go on holiday. Our dogs certainly seem their happiest when they are here! All we ask is that you don't leave your dog unattended in the property, you don't allow them upstairs and you use throws to cover any downstairs furniture. We have even provided an outside heated dog bath to clean any sandy or muddy paws after a busy day exploring. • Can I book a short break? Short breaks are available from start of November to late March, excluding school holidays and Christmas. These are typically 3-night weekend ( Fri-Mon) or 4-night midweek ( Mon - Fri). If you would like to arrange a stay outside of these days, please contact us to discuss your requirements.For the rest of the year we offer weekly bookings or longer, starting on a Saturday. • Is the cottage within walking distance of local amenities? The Laughing Seagull is just over a 10 minute walk from the amenities in Seahouses (0.7 mile). In Seahouses you will find, shops, pubs, restaurants, a chemist, take aways, an ATM, a petrol station and a supermarket. Over the road is Longstone House Hotel which has a bar & restaurant which is open to the public (please check opening times as they change seasonally) • Where is the nearest supermarket? There is a large Co-op on Main Street in Seahouses which should have all the essentials you might need for your stay. Alternatively, in Alnwick there is a Sainsburys, Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl for a wider choice. • Do we have to pay a deposit and when is the final balance due? When booking directly with us, we request a 25% deposit at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks prior to your arrival • Does the cottage have parking? Yes, there is private off-road parking for 2 cars directly in front of the cottage. • Can I change my reservation after I’ve booked? We want you to enjoy your holiday as much as possible. If for any reason you can no longer attend the break you have booked, we will always do our best to accommodate you on alternative dates. This will be subject to the availability and may mean an increase or reduction in cost depending on the time of year. We do ask that you request your change of stay in writing or an email to us. Unfortunately once the final balance has been paid we are unable to change your booking. • What time can I arrive and what time do I need to leave? You are welcome to arrive after 4.00pm and please could you vacate by 10.00am. • Where can I charge my electric car?
